Thanks for the feedback King White. Part of the reason why I'm interested in pursuing a mini or expanded narrative of 'Iron Harvest' is the concepts at its core. I'd highly recommend picking up a book entitled 'Wired for War' by P.W Singer which explores the growing reliance on unmanned technology in modern warfare.

Reading up on the subject it becomes apparent that there are so many different areas you could take the story, exploring a number of issues and themes. With a little more time and space we maybe could have introduced other perspectives and characters.

Hopefully these are things that I'll be able to work into a much larger narrative at a later date.

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for reading! <img src="http://agitainment.com/ics/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":D" class="bb_smilies" />

I appreciate your candor, King White. These are all good suggestions that I'll be sure to pass on to Dan as he works on writing the mini-series of "Iron Harvest".

As a short comic, "Iron Harvest" was a different kind of story than I've worked on before, which is a big reason why I wanted to work on it. It reminded me more of a prose short story than a typically comic story -- less emotional, more cerebral.

But I realize that this is not for everyone, and really, that's the beauty of publishing an anthology: If this story doesn't grab you, there's always a new one coming.

To that end, next week we'll be back to a more traditional comic book roller coaster ride, sword-and-sorcery style, with Varangian Guard!

Thanks as always for your enthusiasm!

Permission to speak freely? Couple of comments about Iron Harvest. . . first off, terrific art as per usual Rick. Good concept Dan, but it came to a screeching halt before it even really started. Honestly, the way the story began, I thought we were in for a techno mystery! Instead, the story tried to go out with a shock finish that, in my honest opinion, missed the mark.
I wonder if the story would have been served better by having the action from the victims perspective? A father carrying his child perhaps? Running for his life from a ruthless fighter pilot. Wondering aloud how a pilot could be so cruel as to hunt them so ruthlessly. He covers his daughter's eyes as the bullets finally hit home! Fade to a kid playing a video game. . . bragging about his skill at the Iron Harvest Video Game. . . "Yes!. . .Father and daughter hit! 10,000 point bonus!"
Please take this constructively men. . . It's just my opinion!
